- Travel Information
We recommend those traveling from abroad to arrive the afternoon of Tuesday, October 3, 2006. - Registration, Hotel, Poster Session and much more
From October 4- 6, 2006 the Birck Nanotechnology Center at Purdue University will host a three day focused workshop entitled *Frontiers in Scanning Probe Microscopy*. This workshop will be organized in much the same way as the October 2004 SPM Workshop held in Tres Cantos, Spain and the 2002 SPM Workshop held in Oxford, UK.
The focus of the workshop will be on cutting edge SPM techniques that are under development throughout the world.
This three day workshop will feature thematically arranged invited talks and contributed posters. The workshop themes are broadly divided into (a) Dynamic AFM methods, (b) Dynamic AFM applications and (c) Nanomechanics. Within these themes, the invited talks and contributed posters will cover a diverse array of topics including atomic and sub-atomic resolution imaging, scanning under liquids, dynamic AFM applications in biology, dynamic system approaches, and novel SPM probes and spectroscopies. All technical sessions will be chaired by an eminent researcher in the area.
This workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for well-prepared young scientists to interact with internationally reknowned researchers to exchange scientific ideas and to establish working relationships for future research and development.
